Are you fidgety? Do you have an urge to be more adventurous? An incessant need to throw yourself all over the place? We might have found your new recreational activity – trapeze flying!

No longer reserved for circus performers, you can attain high flying status at New York’s Trapeze School. With locations in Long Island City (open October-May) and on Chelsea Piers (open May-October), classes are available all year round. In the summer the Chelsea Piers location is a sight to be seen since the school is literally housed on top of the building. You get sweeping city and river views while flying high.

They cater to all levels, so beginners and advanced trapeze artists are welcomed. The school has classes for flying trapeze, static trapeze, trampoline, and silks (those really flexible people who climb up material). It’s all super safe and super fun! Fly, flip and swing in style by yourself, with a friend or even with your children. They accept students 6 years old up and up which makes this an exhilarating activity for the whole family.

Unless you travel with a circus, we’re pretty sure you can’t say you jump and fly across the air on a regular basis. If heights scare you, and the ground is more your speed, their trampoline classes are a great workout and just as fun. We’re sure the kids will say it’s better than jumping on the bed! So save a mattress and try a class!
