If you take Seastreak into the city you don’t have far to go to enjoy and explore classic downtown Manhattan. Our Pier 11 stop is only 2 blocks away from the South Street Seaport at Pier 17, which is still rich in history hundreds of years after being a shipping port for residents.

Stroll the two blocks to Pier 17 and you’ll find a beautiful water view, friendly local businesses and a very pleasurable area to amble around. After being hit terribly in Hurricane Sandy, the Seaport has slowly been rebuilding and revitalizing the area. Opening soon is a bar restaurant VBar Seaport that will serve seasonal dishes in addition to Studio Manhattan, a unique accessories shop specializing in printed bags with city photographs on them. These are sure to be a hit with tourists as a cool, one of a kind souvenir to take home.

These two businesses will complement the existing stores like Abercrombie and Fitch, Local Charm, tkts and Superdry.

As a cultural hub, you can see people on any given day doing yoga on the makeshift lawn, watching a movie at the Front/Row outdoor cinema, or participating in one of the many walks the Seaport supports.

Opening next year at the Seaport is Manhattan’s first ever luxury movie theater, thanks to iPic Entertainment and the Howard Hughes Corporation. It’s expected to have eight screens and seat 505 people, serving as a major downtown attraction for an “affordable luxury experience.”

Downtown Manhattan has so much to offer and it’s just a ferry ride away! Check out our schedule to see when we sail to Pier 11.
