Many of us grew up going to the circus. We went to see elephants parading around the ring, lion tamers locked into cages with big cats, and we came home emotionally scarred from the clowns. We might have thrilled to the skills of the aerialists, but they often paled next to the other acts. Today, the word “circus” has taken on a more diverse meaning. Entire shows are made up entirely of gymnasts and tumblers. You can see such an act at Sequence 8 by Les 7 Doigts de la Main, at the New York City Center (131 West 55th Street) from April 16 to April 26!

Sequence 8 1

High Flying Art

Emotion can sometimes grow so strong, it’s hard to feel like you can contain it. You have to move and express it before it consumes you. This is the feeling Les 7 Doigts de la Main seeks to capture in this new show. Intense sentiment expressed through graceful motion, as the artists perform feats of acrobatics that will take your breath away.

The dazzling acrobatics take center stage in this performance. There’s fantastic music, and plenty of laughs, but you won’t be able to tear your eyes away from the action. Both children and adults will love this show, so take the whole family along!

Sequence 8 2

Seven Fingers, One Great Show

If you were lucky enough to see “Pippin” or “Queen of the Night”, you’re familiar with Les 7 Doigts de la Main, which means “Seven Fingers”. They’re modern circus in the style of the popular Cirque du Soleil, going strong since their explosion onto the scene 10 years ago. They’re known for the humanity they bring to their spectacular productions, and the emotions they evoke in the audience.

You won’t have to jump through any hoops to find the most comfortable ferry ride. Jump on a Seastreak ferry (or just walk, if you aren’t acrobatic) for the best trip around!

Sea you soon!
