Culture yourself at the Rubin Museum, where art meets nightlife. Always a hub of well curated exhibitions, great music and social events at their finest, the Rubin offers a lot in the way of fun and food.

Currently on exhibit is “The first major exhibition to present the origins, history and practice of a millennium of visual history, Bodies in Balance explores the guiding principles of the Tibetan science of healing represented in medical paintings, manuscripts, and medical instruments.”Next time you feel a cold coming on, perhaps a visit to the Rubin before your doctor might be enlightening? A compliment to this exhibition is the film “A Gesar’s Bard’s Tale” playing Wednesday, May 28.

Museum admission is free Fridays from 6:00pm to 10:00 p.m. during K2 Nights where a DJ spins and drinks are served along with a Pain-Asian tapas menu of food. Tours are also held at 7pm in addition to film screenings at 9:30pm with a famous guest presenter.

The Rubin 2

The Rubin recently made news for bringing back the Dream-Over, a sleepover for adults in the museum where you sleep under a special piece of artwork picked out especially for you. Not surprisingly, May’s Dream-Over is already sold out.

Not to worry though; because no matter when you drop by there’s always something going on.
