This October, Halloween won’t be the only time you see hundreds of folks clad in costumes. The East Coast’s biggest popular culture convention, New York Comic Con, with be taking place from October 10th through the 13th at the Jacob Javits Convention Center located on Eleventh Avenue, between 34th and 40th streets, on the West side of Manhattan.

Comic Con is a huge event for comic book and movie lovers, and is the 2nd biggest event of its kind in the country!  Attendants get to rub elbows with some of the top artists in the industry, watch their favorite television stars respond to fan questions on panels, and catch sneak peeks of upcoming films and shows.  It’s also a great opportunity for artists to sell their works to a niche and fan-based market.

This year’s star-studded event features actors like Gillian Anderson of X-Files fame, and Chloe Grace Moretz who stars in the movie Kick Ass and its upcoming sequel.  R.L. Stine, famed writer of the children’s horror series Goosebumps, will also be an esteemed guest.  Of course the event wouldn’t be complete without comic book authors and artists, and some of the best and brightest in the industry will attend well as emerging artists and characters.  For more information, go to newyorkcomiccon.com.
