Museum Mile Festival 1

Nine Museums, One Destination, No Cover Charge

The Museum Mile Festival started out as a way to bring support to the arts during tough financial times in the 1970s. They wanted to bring in new museum visitors and in doing so, build new appreciation for this aspect of the city’s culture. 37 festivals later, it’s safe to say they succeeded.

These days, people come from all over the country to enjoy the evening of wandering through museums and appreciating the diverse array of arts on display. Art tells the story of artists, cultures, and the city around us. The Museum Mile Festival presents a unique cross-section of New York’s people.
