Nothing brings people out from their homes quite like a street fair. A day spent perusing booths full of clothes, accessories, knick knacks and (most importantly) food is a day well spent.

Street fairs are easy on the wallet, the eyes and the legs because it’s the only time in the city you won’t be grumbled at for strolling at a glacial pace.

The Hester Street Fair isn’t just any fair though, it’s actually the oldest market in the history of New York. Originally a “ghetto”fish market and place for the poor to pedal their wares, it’s grown to a highly anticipated event taking place on weekends from April to October each year.

Come hungry because the variety of food will make it hard to choose just one vendor for lunch! Fill up on Asian cuisine from Zha or lobster rolls from Luke’s Lobster; or choose something pretty and Instagram worthy from An Artistic Taste, or Young’s NYC where presentation reigns.

Save your drool for the delectable desserts from the likes of S’amore and (the very real cookie cupcake) It’s A Cuppie. We’re not going to lie; it’s very overwhelming to pick just one favorite!

The Hester Street Fair provides the perfect setting to discover new fashion, beauty and cooking brands proudly made in NYC.

The success of the street fair has brought about the creation of Hester Nights, a nightly bazaar at the Eventi Hotel every Thursday from 5pm to 10pm May 2nd through September 26th.

Take Seastreak into the city to take advantage of the beautiful weather, city views and to avoid the hassle of finding parking; and there’s plenty of room for you and your purchases on your return home!
