Maggie Gyllenhaal, Ewan McGregor, and Cynthia Nixon take the stage at American Airlines Theater (227 West 42nd Street) in a revival of Tom Stoppard’s popular play!
Life Imitates Art
For playwright Henry, life has begun to look a little too much like art. He has written a play about a marriage falling apart, even as he is unhappy married to Charlotte, the actress who plays the lead role in his production. He undertakes an affair with their mutual friend Annie, but finds it threatens to tear all their lives apart. It leaves him to question whether or not their love is the real thing.
A Cast of Award Winners
Ewan McGregor has been nominated for both Golden Globe awards and Oliviers. He’s played a variety of roles, though one of his best known is as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequels. Maggie Gyllenhaal has played many fascinating roles, including Batman’s girlfriend Rachel in The Dark Knight. She was nominated for an Oscar for her role in Crazy Heart. Theater buffs will recognize Cynthia Nixon as a Tony Award winner from 2006, for her part in “Rabbit Hole”.
